Military
Services:
StarView Communications installed a large cable "Headend" system for a
Military command center located
in Colorado Springs.
Due to security concerns, we can not tell you where or what programming was
installed, however, here are some of the highlights:
-
Customized channel lineup.
They picked which channels they wanted, from News and Information to Foreign
broadcasts.
-
Oversized dishes that are heated.
No rain fade or snow problems using 24 inch dishes with heaters. This cable
was then installed thru electrical conduit into the building.
-
Quality equipment.
Blonder and Tongue as well as Force Fiber were just a few of the names
we used.
All satellite signals were required to enter the secure
building using fiber optics to ensure the integrity of the building signal
shield.
Because
the cable programming is mission critical, all satellite dishes have heaters
to insure signal quality during any snow storms.
All
cables are labeled for ease of servicing in the future.
All
Satellite cables first installed thru a satellite surge protector.
Designed and installed a 15 foot pole to attach an 1.2 meter dish to receive
critical information. This pole was power coated and attached to the floor
and well as the wall using Hilti fasteners to insure it would last for
years to come. The pole was built by
D&B Precision Sheet Metal of
Colorado Springs.
